Jubilee 2010 Statistics Are In!

Saturday, September 18, was a GREAT day of outreach! Thank you to all the Jubilee volunteers and contributors! Way to go SSEFC for such a fabulous turnout of volunteers! To God be the Glory!

Visit our church's Jubilee page for a powerful testimony of thanks from a director of a women's shelter. WOW! God is so good!

More details of Jubilee will be shared in church on Sunday the 26th and, at a later date in church, we plan to show the new video. What a privilege to celebrate Jubilee multiple times as a church family.

50 volunteers from River Valley

436 volunteers total

11 churches involved

88 business/civic/community contributors

1300 bags of groceries given away

8 food shelves were blessed before Jubilee

60-70 vision screenings offered

100-110 haircuts given

215 family photos taken

44 gift cards valued at $890 given away

1,078 families attended

937 children under 12

2,140 total attendance

25 confirmed salvations!!!!!! Thank You, Jesus!

Fellowship Lunch, Sunday, Oct. 10

Attention Ladies, the keepers of the family calendars!

Mark your calendars for an SSEFC Fellowship Lunch for the whole family after the second service on Sunday, October 10 in the Fellowship Hall. Every family should bring a main dish to share and then if your last name begins with A-L, bring a salad/side dish; M-Z, bring a dessert. Contact Cindy Mather or Margie Broman with questions.

Watch the bulletin for dates for more Fellowship Lunches at SSEFC! What a great way to enjoy a meal together as a church family and build relationships. If you are interested in planning a future Fellowship Lunch, contact Jacque in the church office for date availability, etc.

2 Women's Bible Studies Starting in September!

Let's grow and dig into God's Word together! Here are two SSEFC Women's Bible Study options for you:

Morning Women's Bible Study meets every Tuesday, 9:30 - 11:15 am at SSEFC in the Journey Room. Join us for a kick-off brunch on September 14. This study runs through April 2011. We will be going through the book, After God's Heart by Myrna Alexander. This study examines the life of David through the lens of 1 Samuel. You may register at the Ministry Fair September 12 or online or just show up at the study and register there. Child care is available (birth - Kindergarten). Cost for the book is $10. We look forward to seeing you! Anyone is welcome to join anytime. Contact Stephanie Buckland with questions.

Evening Women's Bible Study meets the 1st and 3rd Mondays of the month, 6:30 - 8:15 pm at SSEFC in room E264. Beginning September 20, we will be studying Jerry Bridges' book, The Practice of Godliness. You may register at the Ministry Fair on the 12th or online or just show up and register there. Please join us - anytime! COST: $20 for book. No childcare available. Contact Mary Dahlen or Bernie Finne with questions.

Current Jubilee Needs

Here is a list of current needs for Jubilee:

1. Volunteers to work the day of event - please see the website to view current openings

2. Volunteers to work before event set up (Wed., Thurs., or Fri. before)

3. Volunteers to work after event clean up

5. Haircutting tent needs more hair cutters to work 2.5 hour shifts

6. Family Photography tent needs two more photographers

7. Security needs a leader (we have a co-leader)

8. Need help with soliciting businesses for gift certificates for the hourly drawings

9. Need leadership to head up the "desserts tent"

10. Need Spanish speaking volunteers to work in various areas

11. Need one additional helper for drop off date of 9/8 and one additional for 9/11

If you can volunteer for any of these positions, please contact Susan Holmen.

Also here are the donation drop off dates:

Saturday 9/4 - 8am to noon
Wednesday 9/8 - 5pm to 8pm
Saturday 9/11 - 8am to noon
Wednesday 9/15 - afternoon/evening - come to the Apple Valley Water Park. Bring your clothes or household items and please help by setting your clothing in the proper areas on the display tables or hanging racks, same thing in the Commerce tent.
