4 Important Announcements

1. Calling all Green Thumbs! Please join Marie King (Pastor King's wife) on Tuesday, November 2 at 10 am at SSEFC to clip back plants and clean up and beautify the church yard for the winter. Come for just an hour or more and bring your gardening gloves, trowels and shovels.

2. There is a need for some ladies to help plan a festive and fun Christmas Social for early December. Please contact Twila Wiggins via the church directory if interested. Click here to view some wonderful photos from last year's SSEFC Women's Christmas Social. This event provides a fabulous opportunity for outreach!

3. There was a mistake made in the post regarding the Soup & Pie Fellowship Dinner scheduled for Sunday, November 21 at 5 pm in the Fellowship Hall. Last names beginning in A-M should bring soup to share and N-Z should bring pie AND rolls/bread. See the previous post for further details.

4. Don't forget this week to shop and fill some shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child. SSEFC is collecting boxes through November 7. You can drop off your filled boxes in the foyer area. Please be praying for the team of SSEFC volunteers serving at the OCC Processing Center in Minneapolis on December 6. They will be helping to inspect and pack boxes prior to shipping them off to children across the world.

Operation Christmas Child! Time to Shop!

It is quickly becoming that shopping time of year. When you are out and about doing your shopping, don't forget to fill a shoe box or two,... with gifts that will touch a child's heart this Christmas. SSEFC is collecting shoe boxes from now until November 7. Bring your filled boxes to the foyer area of SSEFC...you won't miss it because we are trusting the stack of boxes will be huge!

Please get involved with this wonderful opportunity to reach out and share the love of Jesus this Christmas season with children and families from some of the poorest parts of the world. Visit the Operation Christmas Child website to learn more about this effective ministry.

It's easy to shop and fill a shoe box. Learn more here and watch a helpful video on how to pack a box. You can also download the needed boy/girl labels for the boxes. Information pamphlets are also available at the Welcome Desk at SSEFC.

Shopping Tip: On one of your trips to Wal-Mart or Target, purchase a couple of the shoe box sized plastic containers. Hand one to your child or grandchild and have them fill it with toys and school supplies, etc. that they would enjoy receiving themselves. While you shop, you can explain what Operation Christmas Child is and the importance of living out our faith in Jesus by giving freely and lovingly to others.

Let's go SSEFC! Together we can fill a bunch of shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child!

Service Opportunity: SSEFC will be volunteering at the OCC shoe box processing center in Minneapolis on Monday, December 6 from 6-10 pm. There are a few spots still available. Workers must be 14 years old. If interested in this ministry opportunity, contact Jan Birkenholz via the church directory.

There were lots of positive comments about the lunch along with requests for more fellowship meals in the future...so....SAVE THE DATE for a Soup & Pie Fellowship Dinner on Sunday, November 21 at 5 pm.
