VBS Decorating S.O.S.!!

We are in need of some more individuals to help with decorating for VBS. Times available are this Wednesday 8/1 and Thursday 8/2 anytime from 9 am to 4 pm. Or 9:30 am to 12:30 pm on Friday August 3. Please just show up or contact Jeff@ssefc.org with questions. Even if you only have an hour, please come. Your help is so appreciated! Thank you!

Book Club THIS Thurs. Aug. 2 @ 7pm

Book Club is meeting THIS Thursday, August 2 at 7 pm. We will meet at Dianne Munson's house (14725 Denmark Court, Apple Valley 55124) to discuss The Healer's Apprentice by Melanie Dickerson. We will connect with the author on Skype so please come ready with some questions!

VBS Coming Soon!

VBS is approaching soon! The dates are Sunday to Thursday, August 5-9 from 6:30-8:30 PM. This year VBS will be open to any families who wish to have their preschool thru Kindergarten children attend. Any children born before September 1, 2009 thru entering Kindergarten in fall 2012 are welcome to join us for preschool VBS.

Hit the Trail and take the VBS Challenge! Please invite friends to VBS this summer. You can pick up as many VBS registration fliers as you want at the VBS Info Table in the foyer at SSEFC and use them as invitations. The best marketing and advertising for VBS starts with you and your personal invitations. So please invite and invite some more.

Registration for VBS is open now. You can register online at www.ssefc.org under the Children’s Ministries/VBS tab or you can pick up a form at the VBS Info Table. If you are a VBS team member and have children who will be attending, please make certain you register them.

Make Cards and GLOW!

Join us for another GLOW (Go Love Our World) card making event this coming Saturday, July 28 in room E253 at SSEFC at 10 am. We will be making cards to donate to Bundles of Love, an organization which provides clothing, bedding, and necessities for new mothers and their babies. This is a great time to bring out your creative talents to bless someone in need!

Parks Days THIS Wed. July 25 @ 11am

Park Days is meeting this Wednesday, July 25 at 11am for a fun time together at Farquar Park in Apple Valley. Other upcoming gatherings will be Wednesdays August 8 and 22 at 11am. Family Camping Opportunity!

Take your family camping…cabin style! Join a bunch of SSEFC families at the  group  site  at Flandrau State  Park Friday, August  24–Sunday, August  26 for  a  weekend of  extreme fun. Jubilee Update

The biggest need for Jubilee right  now  is  financial. To give you can write a check out to SSEFC and put in the memo line “Jubilee”. We are still collecting laundry soap and 4-packs of toilet paper. Want to be involved? The next planning meeting is  Tuesday,  July  24 at  6:30pm  at  Christ  Church,  with  the Jubilee  event happening on Saturday,  September  22  from  10-3pm  at  the  Apple  Valley Water Park. Helping out with Jubilee is a great way for your whole family to get involved in serving our community and demonstrating the love of Jesus to people in need! Washburn Wedding Shower Date Correction

There was a mistake in the bulletin on the day for Nate Washburn's fiance's shower. It is not on Tuesday this week. The shower is on Wednesday: BRIDAL SHOWER FOR NATE WASHBURN’S FIANCÉ, ASHLEY is THIS Wednesday, July 18 at 7:00pm in the Fellowship Hall. They are registered at Target and Bed Bath & Beyond. Location for Next Book Club, Aug. 2

Dianne Munson has graciously offered to host the next Book Club. Thanks, Dianne! We will meet at her house (14725 Denmark Court, Apple Valley 55124) Thursday, August 2 at 7 pm to discuss The Healer's Apprentice by Melanie Dickerson. Our plans are to connect with the author, Melanie on Skype. Start thinking about questions to ask her as you read the young adult novel. The SSEFC Church Library has two copies of the book. A waiting list will be started, so when you are finished we would appreciate getting the book back in the library for others. Thanks!
