Fellowship Dinner - Sun. Nov. 21 @ 5 pm

It's time to get out those soup and pie recipes and start planning what you will bring for the Soup & Pie Fellowship Dinner coming this Sunday, November 21 at 5 pm in the Fellowship Hall. Last names beginning with A-M please bring soup and N-Z bring pie and/or bread or rolls. This meal proceeds the Congregational Meeting at 6 pm. Nursery care is available for the meeting only for children birth to 2 years and supervised gym time for pre-school and elementary ages.

At SSEFC we are trying to have a church-wide fellowship gathering for a meal or treats once a month. For November, we have this Soup & Pie Dinner and on Sunday, December 5th we will be having a Christmas Carol Sing at 5 pm in the worship center. People are encouraged to bring a holiday treat to share after the singing (contact Jacque in the office if you are interested in helping with this event). The Missions Council is planning a church-wide fellowship meal for late January. Are you interested in coordinating one for February, March,...? Grab another family to help you and contact Jacque in the office for date availability. These fellowship times outside of the regular Sunday morning worship provide a wonderful opportunity to grow relationships and a platform to invite our community.

See you for Soup & Pie on the 21st!

Need a place to go for Thanksgiving?

Maybe you have to work on Friday so you can't travel to see out-of-town family? Maybe you recently spent time away and are deciding to stay close to home this Thanksgiving? Or maybe as a single, couple or family, you are interested in doing something "different" this year to celebrate? There are as many possible scenarios as there are people for why you may need a place to be for Thanksgiving. So please consider a warm and friendly invitation to celebrate Thanksgiving with your South Suburban family!

Come gather together in the SSEFC Fellowship Hall on Thursday, November 25 for a traditional Thanksgiving meal. Please come around 3 pm and we will eat at 4 pm. After the meal, those interested can take a neighborhood walk. Then there will be games and perhaps a family movie in the Journey Room. Turkey and eating utensils, etc. will be provided but you are encouraged to contribute a side-dish or dessert. No worries if you can't bring food to share. Contact Gus and Margie Broman at 651-406-8542 or MargieBroman@comcast.net if you are interested in coming or have questions. Letting us know if you plan to attend (and how many) by Tuesday the 23rd would be great. This celebration is for all ages, singles, couples and families. We hope to be sitting next to YOU this Thanksgiving!

P.S. If you know of any people in your neighborhood that will be alone on Thanksgiving...bring them along! Maybe you already have plans for the big meal? If you are nearby and would like to join us for dessert and games, come to the Journey Room around 6 pm.

Two Up-Coming Christmas Events

Christmas is literally around the corner! Here are a couple of SSEFC fun, family Christmas festivities to look forward to...

1. Children (grades 1-6) will be leading worship on Sunday, December 12 in both services. Rehearsals will be on Sunday, Nov. 21, 28, Dec. 5, during the second worship hour. Those rehearsals will take place on the second floor of the Education wing in Room E264. The final rehearsal will be on Saturday, December 11, from 10-11 am in the worship center. CDs and lyric sheets are now available at the "Children's Choir Table" in the Great Hall. Pick one up as soon as you can!! Doug and Liz Moorhouse, and Rita Westphal will be leading the Children's Christmas Choir this year. Any questions, please see Doug and Liz Moorehouse, Rita Westphal, Penny Voxland or Pastor Jeff Larson. People love to hear children sing so go out and invite family and friends to SSEFC on Dec. 12 to hear beautiful, young voices singing about the True meaning of Christmas-Jesus!

2. SSEFC will be hosting a Christmas Carol Sing on December 5 at 5pm. This carol sing will be a wonderful opportunity for you to invite friends, family and neighbors. Please bring a plate of your favorite holiday treat to share after the singing!

Want to Serve? Two Coordinators Needed!

SSEFC Women's Ministries is looking for some ladies to serve as coordinators for the following two areas:

1. Staff Meal Coordinator: Did you know that in the past we blessed the staff by providing a meal during the staff meetings? Please consider being a coordinator to organize this so we can tangibly show our staff how much they are loved.

2. Besides the one-day event in September, let's be involved all year long for Jubilee! Women's Ministries is looking for someone to coordinate the collection of items to be given away at the next Jubilee to bless those in need in our community.

Please contact Sue Peters if you are interested in coordinating either one of these two wonderful service opportunities. Thank you!
