Next Book Club is on Thursday, November 29 at 7 pm. We will be discussing No Greater Love by Kathi Macias. The SSEFC church library has a couple of copies and the public library can request a copy from another library system. The novel takes place during a turbulent time in South Africa. Erin Peterson of SSEFC plans to join us and tell us about her short-term mission trip to South Africa one year ago. We will meet at SSEFC at 7 pm. Room location will be announced later in the Sunday church bulletin and in this blog.

Time to vote for the 2013 Book Club selections! See the list of selections you can vote on below. Send Sharon your votes (at bookclub@ssefc.org) or stop by the SSEFC library to pick up a yellow ballot on the small table. You can vote for all the books that interest you. If the book gets over 2/3rds of the votes, it will be put on the schedule. It's an extra cozy time of year to read good books...and it's even better to read them and discuss together with friends. So please invite others to join us!

Jubilee Medical Services Event: Oct. 13

Jubilee 2012 is shifting its focus from a one-day event to a 365-day-a-year operation in order to better serve the community in the South Metro. Part of this change involves moving from a large-scale, one-day event setting to monthly smaller, focused service events. Current plans include clothing distribution, medical services, and family photography sessions. These monthly events need people to help serve at them. So please consider getting involved...as churches, as individuals. (Click here for an invite flier for distribution)

Reach With Me is a non-profit organization that wants to be a ministry to families in need in the South Metro. And Jubilee has teamed with this ministry to be a service to the community in a more year-round capacity. One of the daily ministry opportunities is a Tween Center operating Monday through Thursday from 4-8 pm. The kids that come are usually starved and some are there most of the time. We thought it would be great if we could start a meal train to show love to these kids and parents and provide a simple dinner item - this wouldn't be fancy (think crockpot). The time needed would be ready and hot by 4 pm. It could be dropped off the day before to be put in a crockpot anytime after 9 am. Eating utensils will be supplied by the organization. Please click here to access the Meal Train for Reach With Me. More details and instructions are at this site. Contact Jenny Cooper from SSEFC with questions.
