Choir Singers Needed for Palm Sunday & Easter!

We just had our first choir practice Thursday night this past week and we need more people! We need ladies, men, teen youth, altos, sopranos, bass, tenors,.....Please consider joining us and/or encouraging others to participate. Palm Sunday is April 17 and the choir is singing 2 choral pieces and then helping to lead the congregation in other worship songs. Easter is April 24 and we will be doing the same. If you will be gone either Palm Sunday or Easter Sunday, but will be around for one of them, please join us still! Practices will be Thursdays from 7-9 pm (April 7, 14, 21) with 2 Saturday practices (April 16 & 23 at 10 am). Don't worry if you can't make all the practices; join us anyway. SonSurf VBS Coming to South Sub!

Just sending another reminder for you to mark your summer calendars for SonSurf Vacation Bible School! Join us for this super fun, awesometacular beach bash SUNDAY - THURSDAY, July 24 - 28 from 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm for kids going into grades 1-6. Be on the look out for more details and ways that you can serve. Please be praying for this most excellent OUTREACH event. VBS is a fun, colorful, memorable, safe, loving environment to bring the children we know in our families and communities who need to hear about Jesus. Every family at SSEFC who participates in VBS will be challenged to Catch the Wave and invite at least one friend to VBS this summer. Who will your family bring to VBS this year? Step out in faith and invite 5 or 6 kids and maybe a couple will be able to come. See you, the kids in your life and their friends at the SonSurf Beach Bash!

Church-wide Fellowship Lunch! Sun. April 17th!

Spring is in the air! It's time to resurface, mingle and talk to people again! So let's get together with our church family for a delicious lunch!

Mark your calendars for an SSEFC Fellowship Lunch for the whole family after the second service on Sunday, April 17 in the Fellowship Hall. Every family should bring a main dish to share and then if your last name begins with A-L, bring a dessert; M-Z, bring a salad/side dish/bread/chips. Beverages and paper products will be provided. There will also be some supervised gym time after lunch for restless children. Contact Cindy Mather or Margie Broman with questions.

Let's have more fellowship lunches on Sundays after church. Would your small group or Sunday School class like to host one? If you are interested in planning a future Fellowship Lunch, contact Jacque in the church office for date availability, etc.

See you after church on April 17th for a delicious lunch! April 17th would be a great Sunday to invite a neighbor or family member to church and tell them that lunch is on you!

Book Club Meeting this Thurs. March 31 @ 7pm

The following is a friendly “reader’s reminder” that the next Book Club meeting is coming up this Thursday, March 31 at 7 pm at Ring Mountain Café in Eagan. We will be discussing the book All the Tea in China by Jane Orcutt. We will also be having a tea exchange so please bring a box of your favorite tea bags to share with the group. Everyone will go home with a variety of tea samples! So join the discussion and tea-tasting fun this coming Thursday the 31st!!

Future Book Club meetings will be May 12 when we will discuss our Easter selection Three Days by Melody Carlson and June 16 when local author Julie Klassen will join us in a discussion of her book Girl in the Gatehouse. Next Jubilee! Sat. September 17

Jubilee 2011 has a date! It will be Saturday, September 17 at the Apple Valley Water Park (parking lot) from 10 am to 3 pm. This is a one-day outreach event to serve the people in our community who are in need, but it takes a ton of planning to pull it off. So please prayerfully consider getting involved in its planning in addition to the actual day of the event. The next Jubilee Planning Meeting will be Tuesday, April 5 at 7 pm at River Valley Church. There are many areas that need your time and leadership. At SSEFC, we are currently collecting donations of the following items to give away at the event. Look for collection bins in the hallways of SSEFC marked "Jubilee". We are collecting: Shampoo/Conditioner, Deodorant, Toothpaste, Bars of Soap, 4-pack of Toilet Paper, and 100 oz. Laundry Detergent. There is so much we can do and so much we can give to be a blessing to our community.
