It's Not Too Early To Start Collecting For Jubilee!

Have you heard of Jubilee? In short, it's a phenomenal opportunity to be Jesus' hands and feet to our surrounding community in need. Click here to learn more and to watch last year's video summary of the event. Then click on the Photos page for pictures that wonderfully capture the people blessed by Jubilee.

Jubilee will be happening again in September 2011 (exact date still TBD) and it's never too early to start gathering important items to give away at this event.

SSEFC has begun collecting the following items:

Shampoo/Conditioner
Deodorant
Bars of Soap
Toothpaste
4 roll pkg of Toilet Paper
Laundry Detergent 100 oz

You can place your donations on the table in the foyer area at SSEFC.

Feminine products are also being collected and can be placed in the designated boxes in the women's bathrooms.

Let's see how many families we can bless this year at Jubilee! In the coming months, as you shop, please place some of these extra items in your cart and be a blessing to others. Thank you!

An Opportunity to be a Blessing this Christmas Eve

SSEFC is planning to bless people in our community who work on Christmas Eve by bringing them donuts and a note of appreciation. How can you help? Bring one, two, three (or more) dozen donuts to church on Christmas Eve. We will have a table to drop them off. After the Christmas Eve Service (at 5 pm), your family can sign up to take a dozen to a specific place – hospital, fire station, police station, convenience store – along with a note that we will provide telling them thank you and to have a Merry Christmas from South Suburban. If you are willing to bring donuts, please e-mail Tami Peterson with the number you will bring so she can plan accordingly. Thank you!

Sunday, Dec. 19th @ SSEFC - A Morning of Music!!

Due to the snow storm last week, the Christmas Kids' Choir was unable to lead us in worship....But they will be singing this coming Sunday the 19th in both services! The adult choir will be singing as well so our worship time will be filled with music and praise! Please consider inviting family, friends and neighbors to church this Sunday. People are open to come visit a church when the service involves children, special music and when it's around the holidays. They will also hear a wonderful message of truth from Pastor King as he continues his Advent sermon series on "Who is this Jesus?".....He is Life! John 1:1-14

Got meals?

SSEFC Women’s Ministries is introducing a new approach to serving families in our church that are in need of assistance with meals. The new method is a web-based system provided at mealtrain.com. Please explore this website for more information. The system is free and easy to use and provides information about the family related to food allergies, likes, dislikes, etc. This will allow us to spread the word of the need by email and allow people to link from the email to the web to sign up online to bring meals.

If you would like to be contacted when needs arise, please email Pat Bennett at meals@ssefc.org. If you know of a need, please contact either the church office or Pat Bennett directly to get the communication started.
