The Women's Christmas Social on December 9th was great fun and a huge success! It was so wonderful to see so many new faces as many ladies from SSEFC brought friends and neighbors. The theme was "Unique as a Snowflake" and the evening truly was unique, warm and dazzling. The array of food was unbelievable and the snowflake candle craft was lovely and easy to do! The devotional so effectively reflected on our God-given uniqueness and His amazing and unfailing love for us! Thank you to everyone who attended and much appreciation goes out to those who helped planned this festive event!

Love in a Box

Here's the group of six that went to the Operation Christmas Child warehouse and helped pack and ship off hundreds and hundreds of shoe boxes with gifts to children ALL over the world! What a privilege to serve the Lord this way! At this Bloomington warehouse, it was an awesome and overwhelming site to see SO many colorfully wrapped shoe boxes ready to be sent off! We found out during the initial orientation that a study was done in India and out of every three boxes given, one child comes to accept Jesus! That was amazing and encouraging news! Please consider joining in on this effort next year as we plan to assemble an even larger group to go!

If you enjoyed food and mingling at the Women's Christmas Social, well, Think Spring!!!

Ladies, planning will begin soon for the Women's Spring Brunch held on Saturday, April 25, 2009. Our speaker will be Vicki Tiede sharing "Sweet Blessings: Lessons I've Learned from My Friends and Chocolate". This is a great outreach event so please make plans now to invite non-churched friends and neighbors and fill a table!

To make this a successful brunch, many hands are needed. Not only helpers, but women who would like to oversee various areas: Here are some of them:

• "Save the Date" hand-out
• Ticket Sales/Registration/Seating
• Kitchen/Caterer Liaison
• Decorations
• Music or Special Feature
• Set-up/Clean-up
