Women's Christmas Social, Dec. 6

Come celebrate "A Christmas Steeped in Tradition" Tuesday, December 6 at 7 pm in the Fellowship Hall at SSEFC. Invite family and friends and join other ladies for a festive evening of holiday treats and Christmas inspiration! Come learn about popular Christmas traditions and why we celebrate them.

This wonderful evening will also include a time to serve and love our world around us by tying cozy fleece blankets to give away to women living at Dakota Woodlands in Eagan. There will be a suggested donation of $5 for the blanket supplies. Watch for sign-ups for this service project soon during church.

All are invited for a traditional Thanksgiving meal on Thursday, November 24 in the Fellowship Hall. Come around 3 pm and we will eat at 4. The turkey (that’s me!) will be provided. Just bring a side-dish or dessert to share. Around 6 pm we will waddle to the Journey Room for some games, the family movie, Secretariat, and dessert. Next Book Club: Thurs. Dec. 1 @ 7 pm

Our next Book Club will meet Thursday, December 1, 7 pm at Ring Mountain Café in Eagan. We will be discussing the novel Love Amid the Ashes by Mesu Andrews. Visit Mesu's website for discussion questions and free Bible study questions for a deeper study of Job. Mesu's testimony and devotionals are very inspiring. Mesu wrote us a letter when she sent bookmarks: "May you hear God speak in every storm, and may you be certain of His love even when life seems like a pile of ashes. In His Arms With You, Mesu." Be sure to stop by the library or the Women’s Ministry bulletin board at SSEFC to pick up one of Mesu's bookmarks.

Other administrative stuff: Check out http://www.bookfun.org/ where a web page has been set up for our book club. It is very basic right now, but it will be a great place to record our thoughts about the books. This hosting site also has monthly book give aways. Join as a member of http://www.bookfun.org/ and then join the South Sub Book Club.

Turkey and plates, etc. will be provided but please contribute a side-dish or dessert. After the big meal, we will gather in the Journey Room around 6 pm for games and the family movie, Secretariat.
